The sport of sailing has many years of glorious history in Adjara.  For the first time, the school-club sailing was founded in the city of Batumi in 1964, where many recognized athletes grew up. In 1994, the school building was dismantled and the Batumi African Club was also abolished.
 At the initiative of the “Delfin” fishing club, where the old Afros from Batumi are also members, a new initiative has appeared on the restoration and revival of Afro sports in the city of Batumi. After a 30-year break, the “Dolphin” fishing club and the Ajara Aeronautical Federation jointly founded the Aeronautical Sports School in Batumi. In the school founded by us, children and adults will learn Afrikaans for free. At our own expense, we purchased 14 sailboats and 2 motor boats, with which training exercises are conducted. We also plan to increase the number of Olympic class boats to 50 units. Accordingly, we should hold competitions and participate in international sports events, both in Georgia and abroad. In the near future, we will purchase appropriate inventory and inflatable boats, so that children and adults with disabilities can participate in parasports exercises and competitions. We are sure that with our work and the great efforts of each resident of Batumi, Afrsosni sports school will be successful and not one worthy athlete will grow for the city and the republic.
